Did you know that in the Golden and Silver Age of comic books, there were a multitude of female heroines of all stripes? Some were strange visitors from alien planets, with powers far beyond those of mortal (wo)men, some were rugged gumshoes, some were plucky reporters, some were scientists and still others were ordinary women gifted with superpowers by mysterious forces. All of them had adventures of which they were the stars.
Where are these heroines today? Why do we have to fight so hard to get one Wonder Woman movie, while Superman and Batman and Spiderman receive reboot after reboot?
Well, here is the amazing news. A large swath of these vintage heroines have fallen into the public domain, which means they are available for anyone to pick up their stories and create new adventures for them. And that is just what Vicarious Films plans to do!
We selected three of these heroines: The Woman in Red, The Veiled Avenger and Ghost Woman, and are creating short films about their further adventures. We are so excited to bring these shorts to the internet, so that any and all will be able to see them fight again. Maybe even be inspired to create more adventures for these, and other fantastic heroines.
