A co-production with Knife & Fork in Chicago, For Fork’s Sake is a live-stream on-line discussion series about food, women and body politics — particularly body image and the barrage of often contradictory messages our cultures send us about eating.
On the last Wednesday of every month for a year, a varying group of five actresses, comediennes and women’s studies professionals gathered in front of their computer webcams for an hour. During the course of the unscripted discussion, the women ate a meal and talked about the sociological, political and personal implications of the act of eating as a woman.
The discussions was broadcast live through GoogleChat and was archived to the For Fork’s Sake YouTube channel. During the live discussion, the participants were connected to social media, so that they could integrate live comments and questions, as well as tweeting/posting any relevant links to the discussion.
